THE HARRIER CLUB.

AN ENJOYABLE OUTING*

The Masterton Harrier Club 4, at. the invitation of Mrs Harper,, of! ; Matahiwij, held a run over the homestead property yesterday 'afternoon. The Barriers were hospitably, enter-* ■ tained by Mi's Harper after their run, and! the outing proved to be enjoyable ia every w.ajy. Rather more., than thtf usual number attended, including several new members, and some hockey , players, all of whom were favourably; impressed with this form -of exercise.Messrs L. Crass, J. Miller, C. Mackersey and C. Badley- were tha "h%res" appointed to lay the trails and they were very suoeeseful in theiin choice of country. The remainder of the harriers were cent out in two packs, but were bunched at half way, and in the run for home D. B. Mackersey, the popular secretary, sue* ceeded in winning by a small margin; from J. Bradbury, who was closely followed by C. La Roche and R. Mc Kenzie, the remainder being somtf distance behind. Before leaving, Messrs D. B. Mafckersey, J. Bradbury and R, McKenzi© thanked the hostess on behalf of the club,'and Mrs Harper suitably responded. As the drag left for town, the members gave three hearty cheers for Mr and Mrs Harper. „ It is probable that the club will have several further runs before the season closes;
