PRESS OPINIONS.
The proposed Dominion Museum is very much wanted, and 1, we are not parochial enough to cavil at its being located in Wellington. We hone that when it becomes an accomplished fact ia special effort will be itnade to secure relics connected with the early history of the colony, and a thoroughly representative collection of TVlaori implements and articles of use, and specimens of Maori art.—Christchurch Press. '' Parliament is wearied with the endless recrimination and petty personalities deliberately»4>rovoked in an Assembly that has nothing submitted to it but minor amendments to existing legislation embracing no important principle. If the proposed legislation can bear the light of day, the Ministry is doing harm in not tak-. ing the Parliament and the people into its confidence. Concealment, as Mr Massey once remarked, breeds saispicion.--Southland News. Mr Massey is quite right in deciding to make inquiries before committing himself, but when his inquiries have been completed we hope that he i will be prepared to take up the daylight saving Bill as a Government measure and carry into effect a reform which will be a boon to thousands. —Southland Times. If the rising generation is to be well educated, the Government cannot afford to be parsimonious with their school teachers, otherwise they will continue to lose the most proficient masters, and the bulk of the work will remain to be performed by underpaid female teachers.—Tapanni Courier.
