THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURE!?* AN EXCELLENT PROGRAMME. Another large and appreciative audience was present at Messrs Thomp-son-Payne's Electric Theatre last evening when the second screening proved popular. "The Counterfeiters," the big K.B. special, again prov" ed a draw, a.nd received well-merited applause. The Kulem Company's production of "The Russian Peasant'" was an excellent study in peasant life, showing how they are held under by their superiors. "The Burden Bearer," an JL.M.P. film, whick featured "King Baggot," was an excellent society drama which showed a woman's lack of confidence in her husband and her love for a rascally brother, who led her husband into serious scrapes through misrepresentation. Another fine feature was "His Sister." George, a young profligate, is put in prison, and his sister takes up nursing in the country to get away from the disgrace. She meets a clergyman ,and beoomes engaged, George, on his release attempts to break in to the clergyman's house, and in escaping gets shot. His sister finds him, and hides him in the house. The clergyman hears of this, and goes to siee Louis, but she swears no one was there, , and the minister leaves. George confesses to the clergyman, and the couple are brought together. Other interesting subjects were "How the London Toiler Helps the Empire" (showing military training), and "Juggins goes Skating," "Polidor's Rendezvous'" and "Sammy's Vacuum. Cleaner," This -programme will be repeated this evening. The usual big matinee programme will be shown at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday. For Saturday night the management ha shown enterprise in securing the hig Selig exclusive Cowboy display entitled "The Cowboy Millionaire," which is sure to prove very popular with picture patrons.
