PROPOSAL FOR THEIR SALVATION. 'Times' —'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received August 28, 8.30 a/m.) LONDON, August 27. At the Internatioral Co-operative Alliance meeting, Mr E. John Cheney, M.A., Assistant-Secretary to the Board of Agriculture, urged the formation of agricultural produce sale societies as the salvation of the small holdings movement. It would be impossible to maintain men on the land as small holders unless the wages earned entailed those that obtaintv.; elsewhere.
