WAIPOOA STOCK SALE. Messrs W. and G. Turnlyjll and Co. ( , Ltd. (late Jas. Macintosh and Co.), report haying held their usual weekly sale in their Waipoua (Mastertqn) qaleyards on Wednesday, 27tb August, 1913, when they offered'a. good yarding of sheep and a big yard--ifcg of cattle", ,There was a tentianee .' of buyers; consequently competition was keen throughout the. sale and the whole, sheep entry chang** an d the bulk of the cattle entry also sold at prices right up to late rates. The prices realised were as follows: Fat ewes 225, fat ewes and wethers 23s 7d, fat hoggets 19s Id, for. shorn hoggets 14s lOd, shorn hoggets (medium) lis 3d to 12s 3d, b.f. hoggets lis 6d, empty ewes lis, f.m. ewes in lamb 12s, &yr-old S.H. steers £5 3s to £5 6s, dairy cows on drop £7 to £B, dairy cows (Sept. calrers,\ £5 to £Q,'-backward calvers £2 10s to £4, spg. heifers (close to calving) £6 to £7, yearling steers £2 14s, yearling, heifers £2 19s, 15frionths heifers £3, 18-months steers £3 Bs, heifer calves 26s 6d, empty cows £2 18s to £3 4s, for. cows £4 10s to £#. 7s 6d,. porkers 21s;* ; SOLWAY I^ STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., 5 report having held their usual weekly sfiile at Solway on Wednesday, 27th August, when there was thejjsual attendance and a' small yarding of sheep, which sold as follows : Mixed £4 ss. ; The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Co., Lfcd.y report. , At 'Solway yesterday we had a fair entry of sheep and cattle. The sheep met • wit3i a, ready sale, but cattle were in little demand. Empty ewes made from 18s 6d to 14s, backward ewes in lamb 14s, small hoggets lis, yearling steers, and heifers £3 heifers ! £4 to-£5. ' '
