. ♦ A CLEARING SALE. (By Telegraph—Special to Age.) PALMERSTON N./Last Night. ' Messrs and Williams, Ltd., report having held a very-suc-cessful. clearing sale of dairy cows on Tuesday, the 26th inst., on account of Mr, J. W: HiJdreth, of Raid's Line, Bunnythorpe. They were a good quality lot of cows, but rather low in oonditian. The bdst of the cows in milk made from £lO 15s to £l4 ss, others £5 10s to £8 12s 6d. Many of the (springers were not calving till late, but anything coming in early and showing quality made from £ll 17s 6d *o £l4. The whole herd averaged £8 ss. Nine heifer calves, a week old, by a Holstein bull, * made - 12s, "
