THE POOR MIDDLEMAN. 'Times'—'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received August 27, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 26. The Times, in a leader on "Cooperation," says: "The poor middleman becomes a common 'cock-shy,' but he really is indispensable. Proof of this w that whenever he is eliminated he immediately reappears in a different form. Doubtless there are unnecessary middlemen, but they can be dispensed with by improved cooperation, which is precisely the function of distributive co-operation.
