TEACHERS' SALARIES.
__— ■ m> ' ~ A WELLINGTON RESOLUTION. (By ftkaraphr—PrtM Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The promise of the Minister of Education to submit o new scheme of salaries for teachers next year was reviewed at a Well-attended meeting of the Wellington branch of the Educational Institute this evening. It was resolved: "That the Institute is glad to hear through the Executive that it is the intention of the Government to bring in legislation so as to review, if possible, the j.asis on which teachers* salaries are paid, and to raise salaries, and suggests that any increases to be made shall date from January next. . The feeHng was strongly expressed by several speakers that there was urgent need to increase the salaries, A motion that the increases should be £lO all round was reiecfbed.
