TO-DAYS WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. ' WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological office, last evening wired as follows: — South-easterly winds, strong to gale, have prevailed, especially about Cook Strait, and the weather has been cold and showery, with-heavy rain in parts, The barometer has risen everywhere, but has shown a slight falling tendency this afternoon. Present indications are for cold and changeable weather, showery on the East Coast and in northern districts, with strong east to oouth-easterly winds predominating. The barometer is unsteady, but probably rising again soon for a short time.
