DERBYSHIRE MINERS REBUKED
LIBERAL PARTY NOT IN EARNEST. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON, August 23. Mr Smillie, President of the Scottish Miners' Conference, has rebuked the Derbyshire miners for disloyalty to the Labour Party over the Chesterfield election. He says if the party were not strong and active in the House of Commons, the miners were to blame. The Liberal Party was not earnest in the proposed reforms which it was dangling before the people.
