This return was won from the south end of th:- cut, ■which is practically unchanged Airing the week's operations, and is similar to when I made my last, report. The ground on the'extreme south end of the cut is 30 feet deep with an overburden of 10 feet out from the corner it is 35 feet deep, and has an overburden of 16 foot. During the week buried timber was fairly plentiful, and which consisted of six long buried trees also about a dozen solid stunlps. The wash is still hard tight drediging, ,and is somewhat coarser than usual, large stones being numerous on this end. Your dredge ran well during the week and treated her usual quantity of dirt.
