The Australian correspondent of the Times, referring to the visit of ? *he Dominions Trade Commission, -»aya Australia is still very "gauche" •(clumsy) and has not learnt as haft, her sister, Canada, to make the best •of herself before visitors. Consequently it is easy for a casual visitor ifco. take her all wrong and go away with vague feelings of disappointment, -.almost of dislike. The mercantile community in Sydney answered the ■Commission's questions with an air of restraint though polite resentment at "being bothered. Tho correspondent predicts that the Commission will recommend a reduction in cable rates, "the encouragement of cotton-growing, 'the development of family immigration, and the establishment of a permanent Imperial Board of Trade.
