AN IMPORTANT POINT. . * (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GREYiMOUTH, Last 'Night. William MoLeod was fined £SO for sly-grog selling at -Wafuta. The information alleged that the sale took place between iMay 11th and July 21st. In giving judgment, Mr Hewitt, S.M., said there was no evidence of a pracular sale, hut accused would be convicted-under section 207, subsection 1, which provided that the fact that more liquor was bought than was reasonably required for the use of persons residing on the premises shall be declared prima facie evidence of unlawful sale. Three persons lived on the premises, -and between the dates mentioned the delivery of beer averaged ten gallons daily.
