VISIT TO CANADA. KINDLES A PATRIOTIC FLAME. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) VANCOUVER, August 9. After a week's continuous carnival of sports and entertainments, the battle-cruiser New Zealand has left, ©n route for Home. It is estimated that 200,000 persons visited her. The visit of the battleship has had the effect of re-opening the Canadian naval question throughout the Dominion Press. Whilst the Liberals assert that the Admiralty arranged for the tour in order to stimulate Canadian loyalty, the" Conservative newspapers assert that the Liberals are unable to defend the Canadian Senate's action, and arc now eimply whistling in order to keep their courage up. Everywhere New Zealand magnificent loyalty is the theme of newspaper comment.
