At the last meeting of the presbytery one minister said that men of ability and high should not, be - called upon to live upon the wages of a pick r and shovel man. "The fault," said the Rev. John Walker, who as convener of the New South Wales Twen-. tieth Century Fund, established a" great reputation as a <church can-, vasser' "is in the-Church system, *J raising Tnoney. My experience is that while some give jSuHingsJto the collections others only give three-; penny • pieces; and a krge number :ed to urge the churches'-to adopt envelope system of collection, andito v*ppeSl .thionghout. €b6. ,tState; -"'-.'• ' .'••■■""• .'"-'''' ■ ■■■''■■'■.'•-■■'
