PAHIATUA STQGK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: We held our usual weekly sale in the P&hiatua Farmers' Yards on Tuesday last, when we offered a fairly large yarding of both sheep and cattle to a big attendance of buyers. Notwithstanding that there were several outside buyers present, the sale opened very draggingly, and continued so throughout the auction, and nearly every pen offered was passed in. However, privately afterwards, we disposed of the whole of our sheep at satisfactory prices. Cattle of all descriptions came forward in large numbers. These met with no competition, and the bulk of them were turned out unsold. We sold mixed aged ewe 9to 21s 6d, sound mouth owes from 18s 9d to 19s, forward emjpty ewes to 16s 6d, fat wethers to' £ls, fat maiden ewes to 21s, hoggets (mixed soxes) 12s 6d to 13s 9d. Dairy cows (spring calvers) £6 to £6 12a 6d, cows in profit to £6 springing heifers to £5, empty .storo cowa to £3 6s 3 bulls to £2 19s. WAIPOUA STOCK SALE. iMessis W. and G. Tuirnbull and Co. Ltd. (late James Macintosh and Co.), report having held their usual weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) sale yards on Wednesday, August 6th, 1913. when they offered a yarding of sheep and cattle well above advertised numbers. The sheep entry met with only fair oooijpetition, but with the exception of three pens of sheep the whole eintry changed hands at prices well up to late rates, although the. inquiry for ewes was not up to what lias been ruling the last, few sales. Our cattle entry comprised several good lines, and competition being good, practically the whole yarding was sold. The following prices were realised: —Woolly ewe hoggets 13s 6d, f.m. ewes in lamb to S.D. rams lis 3d to lis 6d, 2-tooth to f.m. ewes in lamb to Romney rams 12s 6d to 17s lOd, fat 2-tooth ewes and wethers 13s to 22s 3d, fat lambs 16s 2d, 2-tooth wethers 16s 9d, forward lambs 12s 7d, shorn lambs 10s 2d to 10s 9d, woolly lambs 12s Id. Empty store cows £3 lis, fat cows £5 5s to £8 15s, yearling steers £2 17s, dairy oows £5 16s, springing heifers £7 ss, £5 15s; empty 2-year heifers £3 7s to £3 12s 6d, empty 4-year heifers £6, 3-year isteers £6 12s, rising 2-year steers £3 15s. Weaner pigs 16s to 16s, slip,# SMs 3d. j SOLWAY STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Co., Ltd., report: We held our usual weekly sale at Solwav yesterday, when we submitted a fair entry of sheep to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition was hardly so keen as at the previous sale, but we managed to make a good clearance at the following rates: Forward ewes and wethers 18s 4d, empty ewes 14s 6d, light fat ewes. 17s, forward lam'ss 12s lOd, owes in lamb to S.D. and Lincoln rams 14s to 14s 3d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd.,, report having held their usual weekly sale at Solway on Wednesday, 6th August, when there was the usual attendance, and a fair yarding of stock, which realised the following prices: Small b.f. lambs 7s 3d, medium hoggets 8s 7d to 10s 9d, mixed hoggets lis lid to 12s 9d, breeding ewee in lamb to S.D. rams 14s Id, fat ewes 6d, empty cows £3 10s.
