TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological office, . last evening wired as follows: — The barometric pressure increased during the night andi moderate to strong southerly winds 'have prevailed since, except on the East Coast of the North Island. The weather has been fair to cloudy to-day, but showers fell in various parts of the country last night. Present indications axe for southerly winds, moderate to strong northwards of Hokitika and Lyttelton, and variable breezes elsewhere. Westerly winda are likely to prevail and increase everywhere in about 34 hours. Cold and changeable -weather is generally, with heavy showers, especially on the East? Coast of the North Island. The barometer is unsteady, but a further fall is due for ia storm area apparently developing on the Taaaian Sea. Gkmditions ore also threatening about the East Coast.
