AND THE FARMERS. (Bit Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU, Last Night. A full meeting of the Provincial Executive of the Farmers' Union, representing all parte of the agricultural district, discussed the replies of branches to the question of the best time in ;the year for the holding of Territorial camps. Tie conclusion unanimously-adopted-was to request the defence authorities, as there must be two camps, to hold one at Easter, and the other in October. These dates, giving farmer© alternative seasons for sparing men, would lessen the inconvenience, and large employers could arrange to let half their men go to each camp. A committee was appointed, to confer with the O.C.D. regarding the substition of a few whole day parades for the many evening parades-.-It was remarked that the training system in costing a lot of money, and the best should be mode of "it, and this is not possible if drills are put in by the men after a day's work.
