NICARAGUA.
A PROPOSAL DROPPED. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) WASHINGTON, August 3. In consequence of the opposition of the Foreign Relations Committee, Mr W. J. Bryan, Secretary of State, is likely to drop the proposed protectorate over Nicaragua. The proposal is'now lijiited to the purchase of the Oanal concession, as originally discussed.
