SPARROW MATCH. The above olub held a Sparrow Match on their grounds on Saturday, when some good shooting was done. Results: — 12 Yds. Birds. R. J. King 18 11 J. McCalmont 16 11 T..H. Harvey i 20 11 D. McLachlan 16 10 F. Cooper ). 15 10 A. lonn 24 10 E. Wooding 15 9 E. Welch 18 9 F. Taplin 20 9 T. Upston* 16_ 9 A. J. Dyke 17 9 R. Buick (retired) ... 23 9 H. Woolven ~... 22 8 J. Whittaker 15 7 T. C. Irving 18 7 J. Harvey 21 6 Two others competed. Messrs King and McCalmont divided first and second, taking £5 8s 6d each, and in the shoot-off for third place Messrs. T. Harvey and D. Mcoalmont divided, each taking 225. The contingent going south thio week are expected to make a good showing in the championship and the other two matches that they are competing in.
