Reference to the balance-sheet shows that the finances of the club | are in a satisfactory condition lhe season commenced with a credit ba - ance of £22 15s, and ended with a credit balanco of £35 19s lid. The expenses of upkeep were somewhat heavy this year on account of the greens having to be top-dressed at the commencement of the season, not having been attended to at the conclusion of the previous season. And it was also found necessary to put on another heavy dressing for the coming year. However, with the work that has been done, we may confidently expect to have the greens in better* order next season than ever before. . There are now 78 active members and 17 honorary members, as against 76 active members and 17 honorary members last year. The club, although fairly successful in their contests for phies, did not win eithef competition, both the, Shield and Booth Cup being annexed by the Carterton Olub.
