"MISSED A DRINK."
MAN'S STORY OF ROUGH TREATMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night, Thomas Madden wa-g discovered standing on a plank tinder the Ferry jetty on. Saturday night having evidently been in the water. He had a bad exit on the back of his head and his nose was broken. Madden states he was drinking with -several companions, one of whom was offended because he missed a drink. He alleges that subsequently on the wharf thig man Btruck him several times and pushed him into the harbour. He declined to give the man's name, asserting that he would settle with him later on. Madden is in the hospital; his condition 5® not* dangerous.
