THE KURXPUNI SETTLEMENT. ; Mr 'J. Georgeaon, the Masfcertott' agent o| the Labour Bepartment, -Eas received the plans for the Kuripuni Settlement, on r 'it" is proposed to erefet" workisri9 > "homes. The plantsshows tw<©nty-two Sections, eachcontairiing 'gyjeie quarter of an acre, facing Wright, Tararua " and PownaH streets. About ten applications have, , so- far, beenreceived for 'the sections. The applicants awf permitted to select their ovni r plans of a building from a number supplied by tha , Department. The buildings range in price from £IBO for a / two-roomed cottage, to £460 for' a six-roomed house. This does not include drainage or .lighting, nor the cost of the land.. The house and land are to bo •paid for. monthly instalments, which include principal and interest. It is expected that a start will shortly be made with the erection of a number of the buildings.
