Messrs Balgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr Ohai-les Hopping, Rongotea, on Tuesday, July 22nd, when they offered his herd of 100 dairy cows, and also 80 grade 'Holstein |||- fers and bulls, and several stud cattle. Buyers were present from Hawke's Bay and Cliristclmrch, ;and competition was keen for all highclass grade cattle. Medium cows to £9; better class cows to £l3 ss; best cows, £l4, ~£ls, £l6, £2O to £2l 2s 6d, the two latter being paid for Appendix cows; yearling heifers, small, £2 15s; yearling grade Holstein heifers £4 to £6 6s; grade yearling bulls (small), to £3 12s 6d; grade yearling bulls, 6gns to lOJgns.; stud Holstein bull calf, 50gns; stud yearling bulls, 50 to 60gns; porkers 355; roller £l2, dog-cart £3l, gig £l9, spring dray £l2, child's pony £8 15s, old spring carter £25. A large q\iantity of sundries sold at full market rates.
