THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. "WHEEL OF FATE." Lust evening another good •audience was present at the T.P. Electric Theal.ro, when the current programme again went off well. The big feature Nordisk "Whools of Fate," again proved popular, and is well up to the usual high-class productions of this company. Another big feature drama was shown in "The Weed," a 2000-f<x)t Ambrosia film, which gave a realistic view of high life in the Parisian area. It shewed how a woT nan rose from tiho slums to a high position, and then sank again into her former gta.te. Tlhe "Ess an ay production of "a Farmer's Daughter" is a really excellent item. It sliowis how a rich young man who is engaged to a b.elle in society, falls in love with a fanner's daughter, who tends him after an accident. The father of the rich young man finds the mixed statu of affairs, and takes a lhand in tho proceedings, which show an interesting finish. "Rags" and Riches," an Imp drama showed t'Jjj life of a in an who had become a miser, and his reformation, a little dhild playing a pathetic and important part in the change. "The Sheriff's Capture," a Lubin Western item proved exciting, whilst the remainder o£ the programma was also e cellent. Other pictures were ' 'He Would Play Cards," "Lea is Bashful," "Views of Naples," and "Pat as a Boxer." There will be a big matinee held at 2.30 on Saturday. For Saturday's change, the .management announfce the coming of the big Nordisk masterpiece entitled "The Devil's Daughter" 1

"THE NIGHT SIDE OF LONDON."

At the Town Hall, Masterton, George Marlow's new and successful dramatic combination will appear for 0110 night on the 31st inst. The production will T)e the sensational melodrama "The Night Side of London." This piece is said to have something of tho problem drama about it, for : t purports to teach a lesson, and incidentally emphasises the vices of the white slave traffic as it is practised; in England. The story of the drama is briefly, the flight of a lonely rWrl in London, who tries to obtain an honest living. Tn her battle against temptation she is assisted by the Rev. Manueal Errington, a youns; cleric who goes to London to find good, but is surrounded by evil. Commenting on the first Australian performance of the piece a Sydney Daily said: "Tn 'The Night Side of London,' which iv as staged at the A delphi Theatre last night by George Mar-_ low's new dramatic mompany to qJi" audience which filled the theatre to overflowing, great scope is afforded for thrilling situations- and sensational incidents. The company made th* most of the many opportunities offered to them. The new play w;as handsomely staged, and the gorgeously decorated Night Club, crowded with visitors, and servants in rich liveries, was dazzlingly effective." The box plan for this production, will bfl opened at the Dresden on Monday morning next, while dny sale tickets will be obtainable at the same establishment.
