TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FQRECAIT. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Jlev. D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological office, last evening wired as follows: —
The barometer has been uiateady. It was rising during the. night, tout falling slightly to-day. Cold, changeable and showery weather has been experienced generally. Snow fell on some of the higher levels in the south on Wednesday night, and hail squalls in places to-day.. Moderate to strong southerly breezes have prevailed. Present indications are for strong south to soutlhHeaisterly winds, with cold and damp weather. Heavyshowers in many parts, and hail squalls in the south. The temporary fall in barometer that has taken place to-day is a disturbing factor, indicating that the stormy weather is not yet altogether past. A rapid increase in barometric pressure is now due.
