ALLEGED BRIBERY. ' " (SYDNEY : "BUN" SFECIAI.) (Received July 22/-8.30 a-rm) , BERLIN, July 21. Seven officers accused of complicity 4n the Krupp bribery cases confessed. The offences mainly consisted in giving information in connection with -tenders for War Office contracts, but fc they deny* that they betrayed military /secrets. The-bribes said to have been taken were in the form of expensive hospitality—as restaurants, theatre tick- ' eta, and presents of money. [ln Ajril last, in the Reichstag, • 3>f Liebftnecht, Socialist,.;stated that Krupp's and the manufacturers of Mauser rifles had resorted to illicit methods by inducing leading organs "of the French press to create an antiGerman sentiment, with the object of facilotating an increase in German armaments. He also accused Krupp's of gecretly corrupting tffioe»i and officials of the Prussian W*» Office so as to secure early iliorniation regarding contracts, and an insight into the offers of competing firms.
