EMIGRANTS FROM BRITAIN.
AN ENORMOUS TALLY. (SYDNEY "SUN" SPECIAL.) (Received Last Night, 7.30 o'clock.) LONDON, July 16. A return for the year ending March 31st, showß that in that period 407729 Britishers left the United Kingdom for places other than Europe, including: Canada, 185,349; Australia, 92,629; United States, 94,176. Sixty per cent of the emigrants were males over the age of 18. Thirty per cent were skilled tradesmen, thirtytwo .per.: cent labourers, twenty-five per cent agriculturists, and the remainder of commercial and professional occupations. The total number of immigrants to Great Britain during the same period was 71,275.
