N.S.W. POLITICS.
THE PREMIER'S POLICY SPEECH Received This Morning, 12.30 o'clock. SYDNEY, July 13. Mr Holman, Prime Minister, speaking at Gundagai, delivered the Government's policy speech. Ho said that already the Government had revoked five million acres of leases, and another million acres would be made available in the near future. It was hoped, in the course of a few years, to make fifteen million acres available for settlement. Further' legislation would be introduced to assist in opening up the country, and putting an end to the curse of centralisation. Other legislation would provide for the building of a new border railway and other railways, and the duplicating of trunk lines. It was also- intended to immediately start an underground, .scheme of connecting the City witilrv North Sydney. He defended the expenditure on public works. Measures which were foreshadowed included lower rents for workers' homes, and a Bill compelling delinquent husbands in gaol to support their wives, and a Public Service superannuation Bill.
