TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological office, last evening wired as follows: Strong and squally southerly winds have prevailed, with oold and showery weather. Some snow has fallen on the higher levels in the south. • The barometer has had a rising tendency, but has been lowest to-day about. Cook Strait. Present indications are for strong southerly winds, probably dhanging by -west to northerly after from 24 to 36 hours. The barometer has a rising tendency at present, but will probably fall in the south again shortly for another westerly disturbance. Oold land showery weather probable generally, but a temporary improvement may bo expected soon.
