DISCUSSED BY THE COMMONS. USE OF IMPERIAL TROOPS. (Received Last Night. 11.10 o'clock.) LONDON, July 10. In the House of Commons, *Mr Keir Hardie, in reply to the Hon. Lewis Harcourt, stated that Viscount Gladstone had remarked to General Smuts that he presumed every precaution would be taken to avoid collisions between civilians and the military. The failure to summon the forces would probably result in great destruction of property and irreparable loss of life.
