BOTH THOROUGHLY FIT, (Received July 9, 11 a.m.) ... • LONDON, July 8. Barry and Pearce are thoroughly fit for their, race for the .world's sculling championship. 'Public ..interest is increasing. There is a. particularly mavked difference irt the styles of the men.. Pearce's is characterised, by power, and Barry's by neatness. Pearce is now quite acclimatised and well, and hag become accustomed to the Thames condition. Pearce weighs 1801b, and Barry 1661b. Pearce has been practising starts, and is very fast off the mark. Despite r6ugh water, he recent pulled twenty-two strokes in half a minute, showing excellent form. He rowed from Putney to Mortlako with McVilly. the Tasmanian sculler.
