MESSAGE TO THE KING. (Received July 9, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, duly 8. Suffragettes burned Sir William Lover's mansion at Rivington Hill, Norwich. * (.Received July 9 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, July 8. Damage to the extent of £20,000 was done a* Rivington Hill. Tapestries and workjg of art were destroyed. A message was found, stating: "Jf you had been as loyal to the Siiffragettea as Lancashire is to the King, this outrage would not have happened." A message addressed to tho King said: "Wake up the Govern men* to give iig reason to be I ova 1. Then try us. '' SYLVIA PANKHURST AND MRS DRUMMOND. "HUNGER STRIKE." (Received July 9, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 8. , Miss Pan-hbrnrsfe,' the Staffragette," recently convicted of a breach of the peace, and released, has been sentenced to three months' imprisonment for refusing to find sureties for her reappearance. She declared a "hunger strike." Mrs Drammond, sentenced for conspiracy, and also released,- owing to ill-health, was brought up on a similar charge. » In her case, an adjournment for three months was granted, j in order to give accused a chance to recover her health. BUNDLES OF LITERATURE. (Received July 9, 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 8. Two Suffragettes were about to hurl bundles of literature at the King and Queen's Southport, but suddenly found their hands pinned from behind by detectives. The Sovereigns were not aware of the incident.
