THE PRODUCERS' ASSOCIATION
We have received a lengthy statement from Mr W. D. S. Lysnar, oi Gisborne,' in reply to cricicisms cntly made of the producers' movement. "We regret?that we;hav§ not space to publish the statement in full.. Mr Lysnar appears, however, to have made out a very good ease. Dealing with the.proposal to improve the facilities at tlie Albert Dock, Mr Lysnar says:—"l have no hesitation in saying thatthe New Zealand producers will, derive 11G ?I?.9Jii.™i. tages/, from the suggested improvement wftdn completed, ■and that tlie ttHia objects .of those impractical improvements are to protect the London importers' interests, -and to appease the agitation for.improvements. The, Premier for Victoria" has already publicly stated tihat improvements of this' locality would be of no use il Australia!. Then how can they be of use to New-Zealand.?'? Mr Lysnai states that 340 producers in New Zealand have joined the West of England project, ,-and: he hopes, in a few , day? to be able., to announce that the new Association is an established fact.
