LITE STOCK SALES. Messrs W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., (late James Macintosh and Co.), report having held their first isale in their Carterton yards on Fri•day June 27th, when they offered a yarding 1 of 1646 sheep and 308 cattle. There was a very large attendance of buyers from aH parts of; the district, "consequently competition was very keen throughout the sale, with the exception of three pens of sheep the whole yarding was sold at prices very satisfactory to vendors. Ihe cattle entry was about.double the advertised numbers, "and practically the whole ■:yarding was' sold under the hammer. The prices realised were as follow: Fat wethers, £1 Is; small 2tooth wether.:, 15s ■ -.;; fat and forward ewes, !2s: fat and forward lambs, 12s; wool'., wether lambs, I2s 6d; b.f. lambs, 8s 7d to 9s ild; shorn lambs, 8s 8d; cull lambs, 6s 7d ; wdolly wether Jambs, 10s 4dj 2-tooth ewes in lamb to Romney rams, 15s

Duncan, when they sold the whole of his herd of dairy cows, horses, harness, implements, and sundries.. There was a very large attendance of buyers from all over the district, consequently bidding was brisk, and the cows, being in very gopd condition, brought the very satisfactory average of £8 ss. The horses, other stock, and implements brought full sale rates. The prices realised aromas follow: August calvers, £9 ss, £9 15&, £lO, £lO 10s, £ll, £l2, £l2 IDs; September calvers, £6 15s, £7 ss, £7 10s, £B, £8 os, £8 10s, £9. £lo,' to £l2 10s; August and September calvers (three teats), £3, £4 10s, £5; weaner heifers £2 2s and £2- 3s; bulls, £3 10s, £3 15s.
