STATEMENT BY MINISTER. {By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Hon. James Allen, Minister of Education, interviewed ' to-night 011 his omission from the Governor's Spr>?fh of reference to education prob--1 mus. said it was highly improbable ihnt, any legislation affecting education would be introduced this session. His ibsence in England during the reprevented him from giving the attention he would have liked to have seen to the subject, which was so vitally important, that it required the greatest care and consideration. Very proably Lgislation would >be introduce;! next session. He thought the pre* ent system was proceeding satisfactorily and there was no need to rush reform. The Minister add?d that the Eduction* Commissioners* report, wlioh was tabled last session, would be referred to the Education Committer.
