UNIONIST WINS. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON, .June 28. Tho jlection for tho Leicester seat, caused by the resignation of Mr E Crawshav Williams (Liberal) resulted in tho election of Mr A. M. W:lshire, the Unionist candidate, by a . large majority. Mr Wilshire's spocohoK harped on tha necessity for fewer State officials and more personal liberty. Hn also condemned the Insurance Bill. Tho small Socialist vote is regarded as a triumph for Mr Ramsay MacDonald, Leader of the Labour Party, whom the Socialists avowed their intention of smashing. [The actual figures in tho election have not reached us. The Socialists supported Mr Hartley (a Socialist.)]
