The first use of aeroplanes for dropping bombs on worships occurred in Guaymas Harbour, Mexico. M. Mason, a French aviator employed.by the Mexican rebels, forced Federal gunboats: to take refuge in the open sea, when bombs fell on their decks.

Mason Eas imported killing fifty Federal soldiers by dropping bombs in tlie trenches round Guaymas.
