TRUST LANDS TRUST.

MONTHLY MEETING. The. monthly meeting of the Mwterton Trust Lands Trust was held last evening, there being present:— Mesir s W. H. Jackson (chairman), R. Krahagen, A. W. Hogg, J. A. McEwen, 0. N. C. Pragnell, D. Oasefcherg, T. B. Michell and C. E. Daniel!. The chairman extended a welcome to Mr McEwen, the newly-elected member of the Trust.

The secretary of the Mastertost Picture Company wrote, asking thai a .spare sparking phig be supplied for the Town Hall engine.

The request was not granted. _ Mr G. Heron waited on the meeting with a request that the terms of his lease of a section in Chapel Street be altered,, and asking thai the> lease be extended from 14 years fa 21 years. He also considered that the rent was too high. Mr Danieil explained that the lease> had been reduced from 21 years to 1€ years in order to allow for street widening. Mr Pragnell Said /Mr Heron had been granted a perpetual lease and the land would not revert to the Trust unless the lease were bought out by the iTrust.

On the motion of Mr Caselberg, itwas decided that the existing teas* could not be altered.

A request from Mr V. L. Fairbrother that a quantity of gravel bo pla-ced on the right-of-way, part T.A., 72, was acceded, to.

The Trustees agreed' to the enhlettinf of part of B.A. 72 to V. L. Fairbrother from J. Bulpitt.

A letter was received from the Masterton Y.M.C.A., asking for a grant. —lt was decided that the matter bo dealt with, when the estimates camo up for consideration. A similar request from the Masterton Competitions Society was also dealt with.

The' secretary of the Masterton Brass Band wrote, stating that four' appearances< had been made in publio 'since'the - teginSftig'-of ceived. '■•■ "' / • . • : ,;:■}-

The chairman of the Town Hall Committee reported that he had effected insurances on the Town Hall in the State Fire Insurance Office, amounting to £I2OO, and that another £SOO was obtainable at the old rate. It was decided that this amount be obtained from the State office.

The report, showing a debit balance of £583 8s 4d, was read and adopted. The report of the Building Committee was read and approved.
