GREAVES' ARREST,

LONDON, June 8. In connection with the New York American's story regarding Greaves (the so-called Adelaide doctor), who was arrested at Glasgow in April last under the Official Secrets Act, and realcased soon after he had been sentenced, an official oi the Scottish Office states that Greaves was released in the due course of the law.

The Daily Chronicle, which is investigating Greaves' story, states that it lias ignomiiniously collapsed. The Navy List does not mention the ,officers, whom Greaves states he*'met and the alleged offices of the.British Secret Service in Fleet Street do not exist. The telephone number mentioned is that of a well-known dressmaker.
