MEETING..OF STEWAKES. The monthly meeting of stewards of the Masterton Racing Club was held on l Saturday last, there being present D. McLachlan fin th: chair), A. G. Pilmer, J. lorne, P. Harrison, W. Cooper. Fred. Dorset, J. Douglas, Frank Dorset, A. J. Welch, C. J. Bennett, 0. C. Cooper and G. H. Yates. -..'-■■ Mr J. M. Johnson advised the Club that it could retain the totalisator ticket racks until th? spring me?ting. Mr W. J. Stratton, of Hawke'sr Bay, intimated that it was proposed to give a testimonial to J. Walden. Mr A.. E. Whyte, secretary of the Wellington Racing Club, forwarded a trainer's license' for T.. McCann, and .notified the Club that the disqualification of A. Watson, in connection with his riding of Sir Knox at Tauh3renikau, had. been confirmed by the District Committee. s The action of the secretary in granting permission f«r the giving of an aviation, display on the racecourse by i "Wizard" Stone was confirmed. «
I The levy of £ls made upon the I Club by the N.Z. Racing Conference • in connection with the Stipendiary I Stewards was passed for payment. I Notices of motion for discussion at the next meeting of the N.Z. Racing Conference were approved. . The Treasurer reported a debit bal-< ance in the bank at date of £394 18 3d: There was a sum of over £10t) yet to ; come m off* account*' of she >p, and this would reduce the overdraft "to'aiittle over £2?)o.—The-Chairman 'stated that the Club had had a most successful year. : It had started the year with an overdraft of £los),' j and had usdertalten considerable imI proyements. It was decided to purchase a draught mare that had been kindly I placed at the disposal of the Club by i Mr C. F. Vallance.
