MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the above was held at Carterton' on Saturday evening, Mr A. E. Booth] presiding. * Correspondence was read:— Prom 0, Bicknell and'J. Nyhan© (United Club), junior players, applying for transfer from United to Dalefield juniors.—Granted, subject to United juniors being unable to continue in the competition, transfer totake effect from June 21st. -From H. Simmons,.Carterton Club,, applying for a transfer from senior grade to junior.—Granted. From A. Playle, applying for transfer from Dalefield to United seniors. —-Granted.
From the secretary of *the Martin- ; borough Club, notifying that their senior team would be unable to continue in the competition. •From' eleven players belonging to :■ the late Martinborough senior team, applying for transfer from senior to* third grade. —Decided thati/the Union could not agree to transfer these players to third grade, but that they be allowed to play junior if they '■sochoose. f From tlie New Zealand Rugby Union, notifying that Wairarapa had been alloted £l2 for the encouragement of school football.—Decided that the Union forward the usual number of footballs to the schools of the district, and also grant ,3ny other assistance required immediately. From same, enclosing a list of disqualifications imposed for playing the League game and'for other-reasons. Gronl Gladstone Club, with reference to their match.played at Gladstone on May 31st with Carterton7' thanking the Union for the offer of a conveyance^.from Gladstone in the event of their .agreeing to play tlie match at Carterton,*and stating that for several reasons they could not avail themselves of sa*.ne. From C. Willacy and J. Duggan, members of the late Martinborough "team, applying for transfers to Carterton and Red Star Clubs respectively;— Granted. * From United Club, stating that a* their, headquarters were Featherston, they considered it a hardship to be a*ked to travel further than Carterton to meat teams from the northern end of the district, and objecting to meet Gladstone at Gladstone and Red Star' at Masterton. After.explanation by the secretary, his action in sending the United team to Gladstone, as there were no grounds available ,at Cartertonlast -Saturday, was* endorsed, and of conveyance of team from Carterton to Gladstone. After discussion itiw*; decided that the United versus Red Star match be played at Masterton, the Union tomeet the extra, expense of conveyance of team as in "the previous case. United Club' were grained permission for their third-clai»;s team to play a match with Kahautara. A. E. Booth, manager of the team which visited Wellington on June 3rd, reported with reference to.the trip, stating that tlie team bad received every assistance and attention at the hands of the Wellington Rugby Union. The .secretary and chairman were appointed a. committee to arrange the second round of-Jke third grade fixtures and forward same- to clubs early in tho week. ' Accounts amounting to £8 lbs were 'passed for payment.
