THE MARCONI SCANDAL.
Tho labest developments over the Marconi share transactions appear to have created a profound sensation in the United Kingdom. The evidence of the connection of the ex-Master of Elibank with the Tinsavoury business has produced consternation in tho Liberal camp. The cable tells us this morning that the Nationalists admit that the character and stability of the Government have, received a serious blow, and that an early general election is believed to be inevitable. The recent by-elections have ■shown that the Liberals are losing their hold upon the constituencies, uul that the public conscience is seriously disturbed. It is just questionable, in view of the circumstances, whether the Aisquith Government will not feel compelled to appeal to the country before many weeks have passed.
