COMMERCIAL.
EKETAHUNA STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Co., Ltd., report on their usual fortnightly s ale, held yesterday : —We offered a small yarding .of stock to a large attendance of buyers. The yarding consisted chiefly of lambs, for which the demand was not so keen a« last sale. We quote: Fair lambs 7s Id to 7s 6kl, dairy heifers in profit ft 4s 6d, £5, £5 17s 6d to £B.
CLEARING SALE AT MARTINBOROUGH.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., roport having held a very successful clearing sale, on account erf Mr 'W. R. McLeod at Martinborough yards on. the sth inst. A largo number of buyers attended tho sale, and competition, especially for the -sheep, was keen. Cattle were a. little dull of sale, but on the present .state of the market, the,, prices realised must be considered satisfactory. Among the draught horses offered were some really good animals, ,>.ud excellent prices were recorded. The following are particulars of sonif. of the prices realised: —
Sheep.—4so four-six tooth breeding ewes at 15s 6d ; 400 sound *nouth ewes at 15 s; 350 shorn ewe lambs at 9s 2d; two-tooth owes 15s 4d, cull ewes sfl 2d to 7s 6d. Cattle.—Dairy cow-; from £6 to £8 10s, low conditioned breeding cows £2 10s, 3-ye:v.i' heifers in calf £4 ss, mixed weaners 325, 18-nun:tlis steers £3 13s, 3-vear s teei\s £5 s', .'l-vear steers £3 17s 6d.
Horses. —One draug: t. 7 year maro £4O, 7 voar gelding -*>(), one light draughUag&l) £l9 10 ■-, hack £ll ss, spring cart mare (8 ye.i's) £l7. ono pony £5.
