RETURNS TO WELLINGTON. i.By Telegraph.—-Press Association.) . WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Hon! James Allen, accompanied by the Premier and the Hon. W. H. Hemes, iairrived'at Wellington this afternoon, and was welcomed hy .the Mayor, on behalf of the citizens. JVIr Allen, after returning thanks for the kind mention made of Allen and himself, said he understood' he would have an opportunity of speaking to the citizens of Wellington in the course of a few days. M* Massey also would be speaking tr them, and.it would be a very grea. pleasure to him to tel] them all he could on that occasion. He had given Mr Massey his report, and the Prime Minister would know next morning his (Mr Allen's) suggestions in regard to naval defence. He hoped, aho. that the people of this country would, feel that these proposals were satisfactory.
