WAIKATO WINTER SHOW.
OPENED BY PRIME MINISTER. (By Telegraph?.—Press Association;VHAMILTON, Last Night. The Premier (Hon W. F. Massey) opened the Waikato Winter Show yesterday in the presence of 5000 people. . In reply to a deputation regarding the site of a North Island Agricultural College, he agreed that the Ruakura State Farm would be most suitable for such a College. He intimated that the Government intended to . establish an Agricultural Board, composed of Government nominees and representatives appointed oy Agricultural Societies of both Islands, and. until that* time the ; site of the College would not be fixed. The functions of the Board would be to advise the Minister of Agriculture on all matters of importance. In-the past this great industry liSd' note tfK? ceived sufficient attention, and 'tlft Minister was "only able -to reive twh or three hours a week to the business, wkich was not enough, and which required special Ministerial attention. The Premier turned on the Frankton Borough electricity a.nd water, costing £19,000. Afterwards the Premier was entertained at a banquet, and received deputations.
