TO DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON', Last Night. The . D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening vired as follows: The rear of the cyclone which passed over the South Island on Tuesday was accountable for less severe weather than accompanied the front of the system on Monday. ; Fair weather, prevailed' yesterday and today in many parts of the country, but showery weather continues on the West Coast of the South Island. Present indications are for moderate to 'strong westerly winds northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and freshening northerly winds elsewhere. Fair to cloudy weather is probable generally, but unsettled and showery, on the West Coast and southern districts of the South Island. ■ The barometer has a falling tendency everywhere.
