THE TRUST ELECTION.
It would be idle on, our part to disguise the fact that wo are intensely gratified with the result of yesterday's election. The magnificent indication of Mr W: H. Jackson is a most satisfactory assurance that the public appreciates the services of a man who plays the game. The return' of Messrs Caselberg, Krahagen and McEwen is evidence that the electors are not disposed to allow the splendid endowment tliat has been set apart for the purposes of education and general utility to go out of the hands of the people's representatives. Mr Robinson and his party have no doubt thought that they were acting in th© best interests of the community in advocating the erection of a High Wchool. They will now be satisfied that the public wants an institution that will mot be of a class character, and will probably sink their opposition to the Agricultural High School movement. The time is not far distant when The Trust may be able to render ffome assistanoa towards this object.
