JOHN DILLON GIVES EVIDENCE.

REBELLION AND MILITANCY.

(Received May 19, 9 a.m.) LONDON, May 18. The case against, the Suffragettes charged with smashing the windows of the house occupied by Mr John Dillon, Nationalist M.P., in Dublin, is being heard. Mr Dillon, giving evidence, said he had heard the noise of his windows being smashed, but had not troubled to ascertain the cause. One of the prisoners asked whether Mr Dillon had signed the petition praying that Dr (now Sir Leander) Jameson be given full political rights after his. release from prison' at the conclusion of Ills sentence for the part he took in the raid into the Transvaal in ] 895-96. Mir Dillon repli in the affirmative. Asked whether he approved of Dr Tameson's act, he replied that rebel-' lion with militancy .was disgraceful, but he did not consider rebellion disgraceful.
