GREAT SCENES AT CHRISTCHUHCH.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association-) A CHRISTCeTJRCH, Last Night; .The Dunedin children, numbering 1250 altogether, who ,are. coming to Christchurch to see the \ battleship New Zealand, arrived to-nigEt and •were." distributed ainontg the many hosts who 'offered accommodation. A number of citizens were disappointed, for there were more hosts than were required. Ther© was a great scene at the railway station when the trains arrived, but work of distributing the children was carried out promptly and completely. The children will be taken through to Lyttelton to see the ship to-morrow .morn"ing, aind on tlieir return will lunch at the Technical College. They will then be taken for a tramway trip to New Brighton, and afterwards will be entertained' at Howard's Pictures. It is also intended to grant them the free use of the Municipal Tepid Baths later in the afternoon. -To-day the. ship was visited by 17,820 people.
